Calling all Lanphier female athletes!

Interested in trying something new, competing at a high level, and learning from college coaches? The University of Illinois Springfield Women’s Flag Football program is hosting a one-day High School Camp on June 16 as they prepare for their inaugural 2026-2027 season.

This is a great opportunity to compete, improve your skills, and experience what it is like to train at a Division II university while getting noticed by college coaches.

If you are interested in flag football or want to learn more about the sport, this camp is for you!

What is Norway Day you might ask? Norway Day is a Norwegian festival filled with Norwegian music, arts and crafts, an abundance of Norwegian history, genealogy, and delectable foods with the aroma and tastes of days gone by, but certainly not forgotten. Norway Day is also the coming together of Norwegians and all Scandinavians from around the country to celebrate a unique way of life and a heritage abundantly rich in culture Our very own Norwegian Lion, Mrs. Gleave, treated her students to a bit of her own cultural background today! Students tasted different treats and learned about different things from Norway! 🇳🇴 🦁

Today marked the final Making the Grade session of the school year. Throughout the program, students had the opportunity to meet with community mentors to discuss grades, attendance, goals, and plans for the future.

We are grateful to the students who participated and stayed committed to their growth throughout the year. We also want to sincerely thank our community mentors for investing their time, encouragement, and support into our students. Your willingness to connect, listen, and share your experiences has made a meaningful impact on the Northside.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Lanphier Choir concert last night. Our students put in a lot of time and effort preparing for the performance, and we appreciate the opportunity for them to showcase their work.

A special thank you to Ms. Rockwell for her continued dedication to our students and music program.

The Lanphier Boys Track & Field team continues to put in the work and it is showing. Congratulations to our athletes on another meet filled with personal bests, strong relay performances, and a Top 6 finish in Pole Vault by Kamarion Van.

These young women continue to prove that hard work, discipline, and determination matter. Competing at this level takes grit, confidence, and countless hours of preparation, and we could not be more proud of the way they represent the Northside.

Now, they are STATE BOUND.

Congratulations to Chelsea Turner, Jayla Smith, Terriona Bolden, and Alliyah Powell on qualifying for the IHSA State Track & Field Meet. We know they will compete with heart, speed, and NORTHSIDE PRIDE, and we cannot wait to cheer them on as they take the track against the best in Illinois.
