
Today marks the first day of LHS tutoring after school! If you or your student need help with work, they can come directly to the Large Commons after school (no going inside and coming back inside) for tutoring from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Assistant Principals may reach out to students who are lacking credits to join our credit recovery programs. If your student has questions regarding tutoring, have them talk to their teachers, Assistant Principals, and come to open tutoring on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Large Commons.

Attention Baseball Parents! The Baseball Booster Club will be meeting in the Join Attention Baseball Parents! The Baseball Booster Club will be meeting in the Large Commons on Tuesday, October 4 @ 6:00 p.m. This meeting is to discuss their upcoming Chicken Dinner Fundraiser. Parents will enter via the commons ramp which is off 11th Street. Parking is available on 11th Street or in the EPA parking lot across the street. We look forward to seeing our current baseball parents and parents who have students interested in participating in baseball this school year!


The 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) cycle, including FAFSA on the Web, opened – and the Central Processing System (CPS) began processing 2023-24 FAFSA data – on October 1, 2022. Today was the first meeting of Lanphier’s Crochet Club! Mrs. Cookson (a top notch crochet master) taught the students some basic work today! We can’t wait to see what they learn by the end of the year! 🧶🦁

The Lanphier High School Ethel Furlich Chapter of National Honor Society inducted 26 new members and recognized 11 returning members. Students heard a message from Springfield District 186 Board member and LHS alumni, Micah Miller. The students, their families, and administration enjoyed a short reception after the ceremony. We are beyond proud of our NHS members who must maintain a certain GPA and volunteer to do service in our community to be members.


Reminder to our Lanphier Parents and Guardians that our Open House will be held this evening from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the Large Commons. Please use the Commons Ramp off of 11th Street to enter the Large Commons. Parking is available in the EPA parking lot across the street. We look forward to seeing everyone this evening!

Bring your best smile! Picture day is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 20th!
Students will be called down by announcement to get their school pictures taken. Order forms were sent home on Wednesday last week. Don’t worry if you don’t have an order form, pictures can be ordered after proofs come in.
Senior Pictures will also be taken on September 20th.

Lanphier Volleyball has started their season! Be sure to catch a match. The All City Volleyball Tournament is Sept. 19-22 at Springfield High School.

Bump, Set, Spike It! Come on out to the LHS Volleyball game tonight and watch the Lady Lions dominate the court!


Come out and support your Lady Lions Volleyball Team as they take on the teams from the City of Springfield! All games will be played at Springfield High School. We want to hear you ROAR!


For the first time since 2019, Lanphier Seniors will be able to go on college, trade, and tech school visits
during the school days with Mr. Metzke!
Seniors need to be passing ALL classes and have
good attendance in order to attend.
To sign up for the trips, Seniors need to go to
"Visiting College Campuses" icon on Mr. Metzke's Main Canvas Page.
ALL trips, no matter the date, must be signed up for by Friday, September 23, 2022 by 3:32 p.m.
Mr. Metzke will come to your 1st hour the following
week with your permission slip. If you have questions,

Please turn in your physical and immunization forms ASAP! It is very important to make sure your student's records are up to date with your school. Students without their information turned in will be excluded from school starting September 6th.

District 186 families!
Any pre -k , kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade, 12th grade and new students to District 186 - please turn in your child's proof of physical and immunization information as soon as possible.
If your child’s physical and immunizations have not yet been turned in or scheduled, your child will be excluded from school on September 6, 2022.
Because of the demand for appointments and immunization in our community, the Board of Education is allowing school nurses to accept documentation of your child’s scheduled physical and immunizations so that they may remain in school. This documentation of an appointment must be brought to the school on Sept. 6 in order for a student to remain.
Appointments must be scheduled between now and October 14, 2022. After October 15 all students who do not have proper documentation of completed immunizations and physicals will be excluded from school.
