-Announcing Lanphier’s first Black History Month Open Mic! From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13th, students will have the chance to share their school-appropriate original poems, songs, comedy sketches, etc; or recite poems and other excerpts by Black authors. This year’s theme is Resistance. What do you fight for? What do you protect? What would you do to keep your freedom? Presenters do not have to stick to the theme, but it is encouraged. All are welcome to participate or to listen. Presenters can sign up with Mr. Wilson in room 235 or With Mr. Jackson in room 245.
-This is a reminder that NO HOODS, HATS, OR BAGS CAN BE WORN IN THE BUILDING AT ANY TIME. There will be random classroom sweeps and any students that are violating this expectation will have consequences issued.
-Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Why not show someone how you feel? Whether it’s love or friendship, flowers say it all! NHS will be selling Carnations, Roses and Chocolates to be delivered on Valentine’s Day. You can order from Ms. Grendze in room 44, Ms. Corcoran in the library or any NHS student beginning January 23rd through February 8th.
-If you have not yet taken the SAEBRS Screener, you will be receiving a pass Monday morning in your first hour class. You will save your pass until second hour and will then report to the Large Commons with your pass and your Chromebook when an announcement is made.
-Student Voice Team members - we will be meeting one day next week! Please be checking your emails for the date and time!
-Now for a moment of silence.
-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
-And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take a minute to discuss your response with your class: It’s FREAKY FRIDAY! If you could trade places with any person for just one day, who would it be and why?
Have a great day Lions!
