-Announcing Lanphier’s first Black History Month Open Mic! From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21st, students will have the chance to share their school-appropriate original poems, songs, comedy sketches, etc; or recite poems and other excerpts by Black authors. This year’s theme is Resistance. What do you fight for? What do you protect? What would you do to keep your freedom? Presenters do not have to stick to the theme, but it is encouraged. All are welcome to participate or to listen. Presenters can sign up with Mr. Wilson in room 235 or With Mr. Jackson in room 245.
-This is a reminder that today is the day students that are REFERRAL FREE will be rewarded with a ten minute early lunch dismissal. If you have A Lunch and you are on the list that was sent out via Canvas, you will be dismissed via intercom at 10:57am. You will need to have the list pulled up on Canvas and show your teacher your name on the list as your pass out of class for the early lunch dismissal. If you are at lunch early and your name is not on the official list, you will have an automatic full day of In-House. If you have B lunch you will follow the same process, and will be dismissed via intercom at 11:52am.
-This is a reminder that NO HOODS, HATS, OR BAGS CAN BE WORN IN THE BUILDING AT ANY TIME. There will be random classroom sweeps and any students that are violating this expectation will have consequences issued.
-Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Why not show someone how you feel? Whether it’s love or friendship, flowers say it all! NHS will be selling Carnations, Roses and Chocolates to be delivered on Valentine’s Day. You can order from Ms. Grendze in room 44, Ms. Corcoran in the library or any NHS student beginning January 23rd through February 8th.
-Girls Track & Field practice will start on Tuesday Jan 31st at 3:45pm by room 250. You must have passed 5 classes and have a grade point average of 2.0 or above( from last semester) to participate. Need a current athletic physical on file with the main office,pay an $85 athletic fee and fill out an athletic permit card (from main office).
