  • February is Black History Month! In celebration, today we are honoring Mae Jemison. Mae Jemison made history in 1992 as the first Black woman to travel to space aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. A physician, engineer, and NASA astronaut, she dedicated her life to science, education, and innovation. Throughout her journey, she broke barriers in fields where women and people of color were often underrepresented. Beyond her mission to space, Dr. Jemison has continued to promote STEM education and encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology. She is a powerful symbol of intelligence, determination, and the belief that no dream is too big to achieve.

  • Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take some time to discuss your response with your class: Who misses elementary Valentines Day Parties and the fun of choosing or making  Valentines cards to hand you to your classmates? Check out the image your teacher has displayed...which type of Valentines would you choose for your classmates? Do you remember your FAVORITE ones you ever gave out to your elementary friends?

Have a great day, Lions!
