Black History Month: February is Black History Month! Each day we’ll honor a historical or current figure and highlight their contributions. Today we start with President Barack Obama.
“President Obama made history as the first African American President of the United States, serving two terms from 2009 to 2017. His leadership, vision, and message of hope and change inspired millions around the world. Beyond politics, he championed healthcare reform, education, and community engagement, proving that dedication and perseverance can break barriers and create lasting change for future generations.”
Now for a Moment of Silence.
Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance:
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take some time to discuss your response with your class: February is Black History Month. As we kick of Black History Month, take a few minutes to watch the video that your teacher has displayed and share something that stood out to you.
Have a great day, Lions!
