The safety of our students is our top priority, and the school is reminding families about proper procedures for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
Families are asked not to use the Converse Street faculty parking lot as a drop-off or pick-up location. Entering this lot during arrival or dismissal creates congestion, blocks staff access, and interferes with special education buses that rely on this area to safely load and unload students.
To help keep traffic flowing and students safe, all car riders should be dropped off and picked up on Converse Street only. Families are also reminded to drive slowly, obey posted speed limits, and remain alert during these high-traffic periods. Even brief moments of inattention can create unsafe situations.
We appreciate the cooperation of all families in maintaining a safe, efficient routine. By working together, we can ensure that every student has a smooth and secure start and end to the school day.
Beginning Monday, November 3, 2025, major construction in the Lanphier area will impact traffic and bus routes for the next six weeks.
Please allow yourself and remind your student to allow for extra time and refer to the map posted online showing all affected areas, detours, and updated bus locations.
Bus Information:
Regular education buses will use the Memorial Stadium parking lot for student drop-off and pick-up.
Special education buses will use the bus lanes on 11th Street for drop-off and pick-up until further notice.
CACC buses (AM and PM routes) and after-school buses will use the areas marked on the attached map.

All students getting dropped off will need to be dropped off on Converse street and walk to the Student Entrance . Do not use North Grand (Memorial Stadium Parking Lot)

Construction Details :
The City of Springfield’s Water, Light & Power Department (CWLP) will close the following roads for infrastructure improvements related to the Springfield Rail Improvements Project: 11th Street: Closed from Reservoir Street to Converse Avenue
North Grand Avenue: Closed from 9th Street to 13th Street Detours will be posted at: 9th and 19th Streets for North Grand Avenue Carpenter and Converse Streets for 11th Street.
This work is expected to last about six weeks and is part of CWLP’s ongoing efforts to relocate and upgrade water infrastructure—a major step toward Springfield’s future rail improvements. We appreciate your patience, planning, and safe driving as this important project moves forward.
