Lanphier Daily Announcements

-Attention students: District 186 is starting the search for a new superintendent, who will start in July 2026. The Board of Education wants input from students, staff, parents, and the community on what qualities are most important in the district’s next leader. You can share your thoughts through an anonymous online survey, available on the District’s homepage now through Saturday, September 27, at 11:45 p.m.

-There is a voluntary NHS meeting after school on Tuesday Sept 23 in room 311.

-The SGA is proud to announce the themes for the Spirit Week next week, September 29th-October 3rd: 

*September 29- Comfy-Cozy Monday - Wear something comfy like your favorite hoodie and sweatpants.

*September 30 - Throwback Tuesday - Decades Day

*October 1 - Generations Day - 9th - dresses like babies, 10th - toddlers, 11th - adults, 12th senior citizens

*October 2 - Travis vs Taylor Day - Dress like Travis Kelce by wearing your favorite team's jersey/ sports gear or dress like Taylor Swift and be a celebrity

*October 3 - Orange and Black Day

-The Senior Class is Proud to announce Lanphier’s 2025 Homecoming dance will take place Saturday, October 4th from 7pm-9pm in the LHS Atrium. PLEASE note--No one will be allowed to enter the dance after 7:30pm. Tickets will be $20 and will be sold at lunch on Tuesday, September 30th - Thursday, October 2, 2025 during both A & B lunch shifts in the Atrium. Tickets CANNOT BE BOUGHT AT THE DOOR and we will not be selling them on Friday at lunch, so you must make sure you get your tickets during the lunch shifts on the specified dates. We are advertising this early so you have time to save money for tickets, dresses and outfits, etc. Also, please be sure you are eligible to attend, which means you have to have 8 tardies or less, NO suspensions, passing 5 or more classes at the time of the dance, and 5 or less days absent for this quarter. Also note, that dresses must be appropriate in length and coverage. Any dress with cut-outs or exposed back or exposed midriff must wear a sweater or wrap over it. No jeans, denim, t-shirts or hats either. This is a formal event. Please see your assistant principal before the dance if you have any questions. If you will have someone attending with you from another school, you must see Ms. Brooks to get a guest permission slip, no guests will be admitted without the proper paperwork turned into your assistant principal and approved by Wednesday, October 1st. 

-On Thursday, September 25th. There will be a live link posted on your Global Canvas announcements at 9am for homecoming court voting. Please read the directions clearly. Only Lanphier student votes will count and each student can only vote one time The link will close at 3:30pm. The homecoming court will be posted on the Lanphier website and your Global Canvas announcements by 9am on Friday, September 26th. 

-Appointments are now available at the BB Boutique for Homecoming Outfits of all types! Reserve your dream outfit just in time for your special day! They have dresses, shoes, shirts, pants, and accessories available! All items are available free of charge, they just need to be returned in the same condition following the dance. They have fitting rooms available at your appointment as well! Please see the flyer on Canvas for a QR code and a number to set up an appointment. 

-Crochet Club will meet in Ms. Cookson’s classroom, Room 3-038, after school today! Please join us if interested in learning or perfecting your crochet skills! 

-Art club will meet today from 3:17-4:15 in room 2-060, Mr. Wilson's room. 

-Reminder to those who have signed up to donate blood – the blood drive is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24th in the auditorium. See Mrs. Corcoran in the library if you have questions and remember to make up any work missed due to giving blood.

-The library is hosting its first book club meeting of the year this Thursday, September 25th during each lunch shift! Book club is open to any student who wants to connect with others over great books and earn prizes for reading. Students who want to attend the meeting should grab their lunch, then head to the library to learn more!

-Attention Seniors: There will be a class meeting and Jostens will be here TODAY  during second hour for a cap & gown presentation. You will go to second hour for attendance and will then wait until an announcement is made to dismiss you to the auditorium for the w. wwwwIf you have morning CACC you will attend fifth hour and will then wait until an announcement is made to wwwdismissww  wwyou to the auditorium for your meeting. 

-As a reminder, there is a district-wide cell phone policy that must be followed by all students and enforced by all staff members. When students enter the building, all electronic devices must be powered off and put away so they are not visible (for example: In a Chromebook bag, small purse, in your locker, etc.). The policy applies even in the hallways/bathrooms/between classes, etc. The ONLY place where your electronic devices can be on and used is during lunch in the Atrium/Cafeteria/Courtyard area. It must be powered back off and put up before the bell rings to dismiss you from lunch. This policy is in full effect here at LHS.
