It’s grand! We get to visit other high schools!  We get to learn and have fun as a team!  If you have any questions, see Mr. Dulski in room 3-002, if not see you TUESDAY!

-This year in order to attend extracurricular and school/district events you will have to meet grade, attendance, behavior, and tardy criteria. Here is the criteria: you must have 8 or less tardies for the current quarter, you must have 5 or less absences for the current quarter, you CANNOT have ANY suspensions in the current quarter, and you must be passing 5 out of 7 of your classes at the time of the event.

-September 15th kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month; this event spans through October 16th. As we recognize this month, we will be sharing facts about Hispanic Heritage as well as recognizing important people that have impacted Hispanic history. Today we recognize Celia Cruz, who Billboard has described as "indisputably the best known and most influential figure in the history of Cuban and Latin music." "The Queen of Salsa" was a dynamic performer in every sense. With her powerful voice and flamboyant stage shows, Cruz helped bring salsa music to a broad audience.

Cruz recorded more than 70 albums over six decades and had more than a dozen Grammy nominations. She won best salsa album at last year's Latin Grammy Awards, and won the same award at this year's Grammy Awards. Cruz received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Smithsonian Institution and in 1994, U.S. President Bill Clinton honored her with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take a moment to discuss your response with your class: It’s time for an energy check! Check out the image that your teacher has displayed and choose which level you identify yourself at this morning.

Have a Great Day Lions!
