-The blood drive is today! If you signed up to give blood, please head to the Gardner/Wrestling Gym at your appointment time. Remember to bring your photo ID and complete any schoolwork you miss due to giving blood. Thank you to our blood donors!

-“If you have already taken driver’s Ed, have your permit, but still need behind the wheel, please go see Ms Kauffman in room 2-035 at some point so she can get you signed up.”

-Juniors & Seniors taking the SAT: Please stop by room 1-006 to pick up (and return)  a permission slip for early dismissal after the test on APRIL 10TH.  SAT Prep books are also available to check out with Mrs. Powell in Room 1-008.

-There will be no Art Club this week since we do not have school on Friday due to Spring Break.

-"Lanphier Poms and Cheer tryouts are approaching! Clinic nights are April 16th and 17th 5pm-7pm, and tryouts are April 18th at 5pm. The packets are available in the doorway of the atrium and online! You will be able to get them during passing periods, lunch or after school. This is a lengthy packet, so do not wait until the last minute to get it filled out. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Haley for poms or Coach Kelsey for cheer."

-Don’t forget that we are recognizing student efforts in making positive behavioral choices and for being on time to all classes and to school. Each week, any student who was referral-free and tardy-free for the previous week will be entered into the drawing and FOUR student names will be drawn. The winners will be announced and they will come down to the atrium to choose a gift card. We want to ensure that we are making Lanphier a positive, safe, and productive place for all students to learn and thrive so we want to make sure we recognize the efforts of students that are contributing to that goal! Each Monday, every student starts with a clean slate, so if you hit a bump the week before, you will get another chance at the start of each week. We would like to give a shout to Coach Blake Turner and the LHS Football Boosters for providing us with these rewards and encouraging Lanphier students to make safe and positive choices while here at LHS and in the local Springfield community.

-Seniors, the approved list for senior service day and the field trips will be posted by the end of the day tomorrow, Thursday, March 28th. You will need to be sure to check the list to verify that you are approved for all activities. If your name is NOT on the list, then you did not complete all of the pieces for these activities that you needed to. We will make an announcement via intercom as well once it is posted.

-Students don't forget to turn in your solar eclipse permission slips to the academic office by April 8th! If you do not get a permission slip there will be extras in the academic center but you must have it tuned in by april 8th to participate in any activities that day!

-Sadly, It is one of the final days of Women’s History Month. Each day in March, we have been honoring a woman who has been making history here at Lanphier as a crucial part of our staff and supplying a quote from a historical and inspirational woman!

Today we honor the one and only Ms. Vargas!!! Ms. Vargas has been a member of the Lanphier staff for 24 years!!! She enjoys making connections with her students, getting to know them as people rather than just as students in a classroom, and her friends that have become way more than colleagues at work because they are more like family. A woman that inspires Ms. Vargas is Princess Diana

because she truly cared about people. When we get back from Spring Break, be sure to tell Ms. Vargas happy birthday because that Monday is her birthday, and be sure to thank her for her incredible school spirit, the light she brings into the lives of the people she meets, and her ability to listen and make you feel heard, cared for, and supported!

Today’s Women’s History Month Quote is:

“I think that the only way to teach is by example, as children will more easily follow what they see you do than what you tell them to do”- Gloria Estefan

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual, please take a moment to discuss with your class: Easter is this coming Sunday! If you could only have ONE type of Easter candy in your Easter basket what would it be?

-Also, at this time, if you are a junior, please check the list that has been shared on your global Canvas announcements. If your name is on the list, you have not taken the state science assessment and you will need to report right now with your Chromebooks & chargers to room 02-038, Mrs. Gleave’s room on the red math hallway.

Have a Great Day Lions!
