-“If you have already taken driver’s Ed, have your permit, but still need behind the wheel, please go see Ms Kauffman in room 2-035 at some point so she can get you signed up.”

-Juniors & Seniors taking the SAT: Please stop by room 1-006 to pick up (and return)  a permission slip for early dismissal after the test on APRIL 10TH.  SAT Prep books are also available to check out with Mrs. Powell in Room 1-008.

-If you are still needing to take the 5Essentials Survey and/or the Panorama survey, we will begin pulling you out of class this week to complete these. If you are able to get this taken care of before we start make-ups, we will not have to interrupt your class time. Teachers - If you are able to get any students checked off the list, we would definitely appreciate that help!

-There will be no Art Club this week since we do not have school on Friday due to Spring Break.

-"Lanphier Poms and Cheer tryouts are approaching! Clinic nights are April 16th and 17th 5pm-7pm, and tryouts are April 18th at 5pm. The packets are available in the doorway of the atrium and online! You will be able to get them during passing periods, lunch or after school. This is a lengthy packet, so do not wait until the last minute to get it filled out. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Haley for poms or Coach Kelsey for cheer."

-Don’t forget that we are recognizing student efforts in making positive behavioral choices and for being on time to all classes and to school. Each week, any student who was referral-free and tardy-free for the previous week will be entered into the drawing and FOUR student names will be drawn. The winners will be announced and they will come down to the atrium to choose a gift card. We want to ensure that we are making Lanphier a positive, safe, and productive place for all students to learn and thrive so we want to make sure we recognize the efforts of students that are contributing to that goal! Each Monday, every student starts with a clean slate, so if you hit a bump the week before, you will get another chance at the start of each week. We would like to give a shout to Coach Blake Turner and the LHS Football Boosters for providing us with these rewards and encouraging Lanphier students to make safe and positive choices while here at LHS and in the local Springfield community.

-It is another day of Women's History Month! Each day of the month, we are honoring a woman who is making history as a part of the Lanphier Staff and supplying a quote from an inspirational woman!

Today we honor Ms. Scott of the Student Services Department! Ms. Scott has been with LHS for 7 years! She enjoys her students because they are awesome and her department because they are the most phenomenal group of teachers that work hard and are supportive! A woman that inspires Ms. Scott is Mrs. Libby Rambach who was Ms. Scott's first teacher friend in Illinois! If you see Mrs. Scott today, please thank her for her delightful personality, her uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcomed, and the way she spreads sparkles all around LHS!

Today's Women's History Quote is:

"I decided long ago never to walk in anyone’s shadow. If I fail, if I succeed, at least I did as I believed. No matter what they take from me, they can’t take away my dignity.”

-Whitney Houston

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual, please take a moment to discuss with your class: March 19th was the first day of SPRING! What do you love most about the season of spring?

Have a Great Day Lions!
