-There will No Art Club Today.
-"Lanphier Poms and Cheer tryouts are approaching! Clinic nights are April 16th and 17th 5pm-7pm, and tryouts are April 18th at 5pm. The packets are available in the doorway of the atrium and online! You will be able to get them during passing periods, lunch or after school. This is a lengthy packet, so do not wait until the last minute to get it filled out. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Haley for poms or Coach Kelsey for cheer."
-Don’t forget that we are recognizing student efforts in making positive behavioral choices and for being on time to all classes and to school. Each week, any student that was referral free and tardy free for the previous week will be entered into the drawing and FOUR student names will be drawn. The winners will be announced and they will come down to the atrium to choose a gift card. We want to ensure that we are making Lanphier a positive, safe, and productive place for all students to learn and thrive so we want to make sure we recognize the efforts of students that are contributing to that goal! Each Monday, every student starts with a clean slate, so if you hit a bump the week before, you will get another chance at the start of each week. We would like to give a shout to Coach Blake Turner and the LHS Football Boosters for providing us with these rewards and encouraging Lanphier students to make safe and positive choices while here at LHS and in the local Springfield community.
-Sophomores, Jostens will be back next Tuesday, March 19th, from 7:30am - 12:30pm to collect your class ring order forms and your letter jacket order forms. BE sure to bring your completed order form and down payment on Tuesday. Any senior who has not picked up their Senior Graduation items - Jostens will be delivering those items at this time also.
-"It is another day of Women's History Month! Each day of the month, we are honoring a woman who is making history as a part of the Lanphier Staff and supplying a quote from an inspirational woman!
Today we honor The One and Only Ms. Meiners of the Student Support Services Department! Ms. Meiners has been with LHS since the year 2000!! She enjoys the staff she gets to work with here at LHS! A woman that inspires Ms. Meiners is Dolly Parton. If you see Ms. Meiners today, thank her for being a gifted educator with a caring heart and an amazing laugh!
Today's Women's History Quote is:
"Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life."
"-Dolly Parton
-Last Friday was SEL, Social and Emotional Learning Day! We reviewed what SEL is and the 5 core skills of SEL, which are: self-awareness, social-awareness, self management, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. Each day this week, we will focus on one of the 5 core SEL skills. Today’s focus is Relationship Skills! As a reminder, having relationship skills is the ability to create and keep healthy and rewarding relationships with diverse individuals and groups. This involves dealing with conflict peacefully, communicating clearly, active listening, asking for help when needed, and avoiding peer pressure.
-Now for a moment of silence.
-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
-And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual, please take a moment to discuss your response with your class: Being a part of a team definitely involves practicing effective relationship skills. What is your favorite sports team? If you don’t have a favorite sports team, what is a team that you have been a part of that you really enjoy? A club, a group of co-workers, a group that you’ve worked with in a class, etc. could all be considered a team!
Have a Great Day & a Great Weekend Lions!
