-This is a reminder, if you are a JUNIOR and are testing in a morning session, you should currently be in your assigned testing room. If you are not, go find where your location is by looking at the purple lists in the hallways or on your Global Canvas announcements. Report straight to your room now with your charged Chromebook. If you are a junior and testing in the afternoon, you will report straight to your testing room for fifth hour.

-If you have NOT taken your Panorama survey, please access your Global Canvas announcements and take that as soon as possible. Any student that has not taken it will be called down at the end of the week to make it up in the atrium.

-Student Voice Team Members - We will hold a meeting this Thursday, March 14th, during 7th hour. You will go to your 7th hour class and then wait for an announcement to dismiss you down to the conference room off of the Atrium.

-It’s time to donate blood and save lives! National Honor Society is hosting another blood drive on Wednesday, March 27th. We have 45 blood donor slots to fill. If you would like to give blood on March 27th, visit Mrs. Corcoran in room 2-029 to sign up for a time slot. Students and staff can sign up. You must be at least 16 years old to give blood. Donors receive their choice of a $10 gift card to places like Walmart, Amazon, Starbucks, and more. First time donors will receive a $25 gift card.

-“If you have already taken driver’s Ed, have your permit, but still need behind the wheel, please go see Ms Kauffman in room 2-035 at some point so she can get you signed up.”

-There will no Art Club this Friday, March 15th

-"Lanphier Poms and Cheer tryouts are approaching! Clinic nights are April 16th and 17th 5pm-7pm, and tryouts are April 18th at 5pm. Packets will be available this Friday, March 15th, do not wait until the last minute to get these filled out! If you have any questions please reach out to Coach Haley for poms, or Coach Kelsey for cheer."

-Don’t forget that we are recognizing student efforts in making positive behavioral choices and for being on time to all classes and to school. Each Monday, any student that was referral free and tardy free for the previous week will be entered into the drawing and FOUR student names will be drawn. The winners will be announced and they will come down to the atrium to choose a gift card. We want to ensure that we are making Lanphier a positive, safe, and productive place for all students to learn and thrive so we want to make sure we recognize the efforts of students that are contributing to that goal! Each Monday, every student starts with a clean slate, so if you hit a bump the week before, you will get another chance at the start of each week. We would like to give a shout to Coach Blake Turner and the LHS Football Boosters for providing us with these rewards and encouraging Lanphier students to make safe and positive choices while here at LHS and in the local Springfield community.

-Seniors, Jostens will be here for announcement delivery this Thursday, March 14th. Your complete remaining balance is due by that date in order to receive your order.

-There will be an NHS meeting tomorrow, March 13th, Wednesday, at the beginning of 2nd hour.  Students should check in with their 2nd hour teacher before coming to the atrium.

-"It is another day of Women's History Month! Each day of the month, we are honoring a woman who is making history as a part of the Lanphier Staff and supplying a quote from an inspirational woman!

Today we honor Ms. Hunsley Hunt, our school improvement coach! Ms. Hunsley Hunt has been with LHS for 17 years!! She enjoys that everyday here at LHS has the opportunity to be a wonderful day!  A woman that inspires Ms. Hunsley Hunt is Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia)! If you see Ms. Hunsley Hunt today, thank her for being a fun, energetic, and caring member of our staff!

Today's Women's History Quote is:

“I don't want life to imitate art, I want life to BE art." -Carrie Fisher

-Friday was SEL, Social and Emotional Learning Day! We reviewed what SEL is and the 5 core skills of SEL, which are: self-awareness, social-awareness, self management, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. Each day this week, we will focus on one of the 5 core SEL skills. Today’s focus is Responsible Decision Making! As a reminder, responsible decision making is the ability to make constructive choices about personal behavior and social interactions based on ethical standards, safety concerns, and social norms. It’s important to consider all sides of a decision and consequences before making a choice. Today, during both lunch shifts, there will be a “What Would You Do?” poll available to all students! Just look for the QR codes around the Atrium to access the poll from your phone. We will also push the poll out through your Global Canvas announcements. Be sure to put your name; any student that completes the “What Would You Do?” poll and submits it will be entered in for a gift card! We will share the results of the school-wide poll later this week!

Also, shout out to all students that participated in the RESPECT doodle poster yesterday at lunch and THANK YOU to the Art Club for helping create the poster!

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

-And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual, please take a moment to discuss your response with your class: Since our focus today is responsible decision making, let’s try a “would you rather” question….Would you rather go to school four days a week for 10 hours or five days a week for eight hours?

Have a great day Lions!
