students looking at skulls in biology lab

Biology at Lanphier High School is popular!🔬

Mrs. Allen's AP Biology course is gaining popularity with the students for all of the experiences and hands-on labs.

Students this year got the first opportunity thanks to a grant from the Springfield Public Schools Foundation to work with hominid skulls during their Phylogenetic lab work.

In years past, students would complete this lab by referencing pictures or videos online. The hands-on experience helps to enhance learning and gives student's a deeper understanding of the material.

Mrs. Allen took advantage of completing a grant form with the Springfield Public Schools Foundation and her project was selected as a recipient. The Foundation purchased the skulls for her dual biology course at LHS.

Lanphier students for years to come will get to enjoy this unique experience in Mrs. Allen's class.
