-Seniors, if you missed the class meeting last Thursday, please stop by the Academic Center to pick up a permission slip for the November 9th senior activity day. All permission slips are due to the Senior Box in the Academic Center by 3:30pm on November 3rd.
-The library is hosting a two-sentence horror story competition. Stop by the library to see examples and pick up a template copy. Two-sentence horror stories are due to Mrs. Corcoran by Halloween -- Tuesday, October 31st for competition consideration. The winner will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.
-Drama Club will meet TODAY in Room 244 after school until 4pm. We'll be reading through the one act script, so please be there. If you can't make it, let Mrs. Hutchison or Mr. Fisher know.
-Wrestling will have open gym Wednesday and Friday directly after school in the North Gym until 5PM boys and girls are welcome. Season officially will start November 6. You must wear gym attire.
-Art club will meet tomorrow, October 17th from 3:17 until 4:45 in room 235. We will be pumpkin carving!
-Open gym for girl’s basketball is being held on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. See Coach Collins or Coach Daniel if you have any questions.
-Are you passionate about film and interested in exploring the rich and diverse world of African American cinema? Well, you're in luck! Registration for the spring 2024 semester of African American Literature is still open. The class is open to 10-12 grade students only. Don't pass up this opportunity to explore the fascinating world of African American film and to have a greater understanding of the impact that narrative in movies can have. If you have any questions about the course, please reach out to Mr. Jackson or your Assistant Principal for more information.
-The Be Yourself Club invites faculty and staff to participate in our door decorating contest, celebrating Halloween, LGBTQ+ History Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month. We encourage teachers to pick one of the three themes to use when decorating your doors and collaborate with one of their classes to decorate their doors creatively. To be eligible for a chance to win a Halloween pizza party, please ensure your doors are fully decorated by October 25th. The judging criteria will consider creativity, skill, and effort put into the door decorations. Best of luck, and may the most outstanding door win!
-The Coalition for Racial Equity will be meeting after school tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17th, from 3:30–4:15 p.m. in room 245. Please reach out to Mr. Jackson, Ms. Morrison, or Ms. Iaiennaro for more information. All are welcome to attend.
-Student Voice Team members, our next meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17th during 7th period. Our district leaders will be here as well for this meeting.
-As a reminder, the end of the quarter is this Thursday and we also will be on a 2:17pm dismissal schedule due to parent-teacher conferences in the evening. There is also no school this Friday due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. If your parent would like to schedule a conference with any teacher, please have them email the teacher to set up a time either Thursday evening between 5pm-8pm or anytime during the day on Friday.
