-Open gym for girl’s basketball is being held on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. See Coach Collins or Coach Daniel if you have any questions.
-The cheer team is looking at having an additional tryout for the winter season! Any 9th through 12th grader interested in trying out for cheerleading will need to complete the interest form and tryout packet which is on Canvas. The Google interest form is due by October 9th at 5pm and you will bring the complete packet with you on the first Clinic on October 12th. Again, this is to check to see how many students are interested. A minimum of 10 students will need to express interest in order for a tryout to be held!
-Are you passionate about film and interested in exploring the rich and diverse world of African American cinema? Well, you're in luck! Registration for the spring 2024 semester of African American Literature is still open. The class is open to 10-12 grade students only. Don't pass up this opportunity to explore the fascinating world of African American film and to have a greater understanding of the impact that narrative in movies can have. If you have any questions about the course, please reach out to Mr. Jackson or your Assistant Principal for more information.
-The Be Yourself Club invites faculty and staff to participate in our door decorating contest, celebrating Halloween, LGBTQ+ History Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month. We encourage teachers to collaborate with one of their classes to decorate their doors creatively. To be eligible for a chance to win a Halloween pizza party, please ensure your doors are fully decorated by October 25th. The judging criteria will consider creativity, skill, and effort put into the door decorations. Best of luck, and may the most outstanding door win!
-The Be Yourself Club is a safe space for conversations, friendships, and fun for students who belong to or support the LGBTQ+ community. The Be Yourself Club will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 10th, after school in room 245. -Jurniors and Seniors IF you turned in a permission slip for todays college fair you may leave at 11:29. The event starts at 12:00 and students will need to check in with either Mr. Metzke, Mr. Caton, or Mrs Hedges to receive an excused absence for the afternoon.
