-Are you looking for a club that hosts enjoyable social events with a strong sense of community? If so, you should consider joining the Be Yourself Club. Be Yourself Club, or BYC for short, believes that everyone deserves a place where they can be themselves and connect with allies and peers who share their values, regardless of their preferred pronouns or how they choose to identify. Starting on Monday, September 25th, the Be Yourself Club will meet after school in Room 245 from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. All are invited to attend!

-Coalition of Racial Equity, or CORE for short, is a student group composed of people who are dedicated to creative and sustaining a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment here at LHS. Our goal is to create a space to celebrate the unique diversity everyone brings to the table by hosting events and gatherings that uplift minority voices on campus. Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, September 28, after school in room 245. If you have any questions about CORE, please speak to Mr. Jackson, Ms. Morrison, or Ms. Iaiennaro for more information. All are invited to attend!

-The Senior Class is Proud to announce that Lanphier’s 2023 Homecoming will take place on Saturday, September 23rd from 7pm to 9pm in the LHS commons. PLEASE note--No one will be allowed to enter after 7:30pm. DUE TO CONSTRUCTION. Tickets for the 2023 Homecoming Dance this year will be LIMITED. Tickets will be sold during A and B lunch for $15 on Wednesday September 20th, 2023 & Thursday, September 21st, 2023 in the Small Commons areas. ANY remaining tickets will be sold for $20 at the football game on Friday, Sept. 22nd until the beginning of 3rd quarter. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR!!

This year the cafeteria will be used as a throwback game area. We will have a cake walk, cornhole, & bingo. There will be prizes!! Homecoming is a formal dance and students must be dressed accordingly.  Jeans, denim, t-shirts and hats will NOT be permitted. Dresses must be appropriate in length and coverage.  Please see your assistant principal before the dance if you have any questions concerning dress code.

-The homecoming spirit week themes will be as follows:

Today, Monday - 9/18 — Barbie and Ken Day - Students dress as their favorite Barbie or Ken character or just in Pink in traditional Barbie fashion. The Barbie movie had entrepreneur Barbie, cowgirl barbie, President Barbie, sleepover Barbie, etc. and same with Ken

Today, Tuesday - 9/19 — BBQ Dads vs. Soccer Moms Day - Fire up that grill or watch a kid’s game, dress up a serve up at great day.

Wednesday - 9/20 — Celebrity Day - Dress like your favorite celebrity - Ex. Adam Sandler, Steve Harvey, Taylor Swift, your favorite athlete, etc. 

Thursday — 9/21 — Orange and Black Day - Students are not allowed to wear hats, no face paint, no items that could be considered a weapon. The staff is encouraged to participate in the spirit week and are allowed to wear jeans while doing it.

-Art club will be meeting after school on Tuesday, September 26th from 3:17-4:15. It is the first meeting of Art club for the school year, so come out and join other artists to make some cool things and meet other people!
